The Salt Biodegradable Cremation Urns are individually hand crafted by skilled artisans from solid blocks of Himalayan Rock Salt. The salt deposits in this region are over 250 million years old and are believed to be the purest on earth.
As a result of the hand made and natural qualities of the Salt Urns, each is unique in both color and finish. The urns will dissolve within 4 hours, when placed in water. Each urn comes with a biodegradable bag and tie for the cremated remains to be placed in, before being placed inside the urn.

A Beautiful and Biodegradable Urn

My mother was very concerned about the environment so I knew I wanted a biodegradable urn for her ashes, but I didn't want to get something flimsy like cardboard. She also had a collection of Salt Crystal lamps, which she loved. The Himalayan Salt Urn was perfect! I couldn't believe they made such a thing. It was exactly what she would have picked for herself if she could have. I got the large one, which was huge and could have fit twice the amount of ashes. It worked out well for us, though, because we each put a momento, pictures, notes, etc. in with her and there was plenty of room for everything. The urn was so beautiful I almost didn't want to bury it. The only thing I would warn prospective buyers of is this: Salt Crystal sweats in humidity, so if there is moisture in the air, be careful when you carry the urn...It gets slippery and it will leave salt on your clothes if you are not careful! It was a great buy and I know that my mother would have loved it.
