The artist creates this effect by infusing murrine, or small glass, bead-like ornaments, in with the molten glass, and then blowing the piece into the desired shape. The brass closure of the urn is highly polished. The closure can be placed directly below the urn, when it is set on the brass ring-base, or it can be displayed on the side.
