Pet Dedication

Losing a pet can be one of the most difficult ordeals that many will face in their lives. While that is so, it is not uncommon for a person who has lost a pet to be surprised at the state of grief that they are left in. Just as many non-pet owners believe, we feel as if it is improper to be so devastated at the loss of an animal, and many even feel ashamed that they are mourning such a loss. This is actually one of the biggest misconceptions that can be made. Our pets are not just trinkets for our entertainment, they are also living, breathing beings that not only provided laughter, but immeasurable amounts of comfort, and unyielding love to us. In fact, the loss of a pet can be just as traumatic as that of a person, because the pet stands as a constant in our lives; a companion that is there through thick and thin, and literally, at all times. That is why it is not uncommon to feel an enormous void in the wake of the loss of a companion pet. With that said, just as we mourn for our lost loved ones, we should also do so for the pet that has, unfortunately, left our lives.
