The bond created with a pet can be one of the comforting friendships that many will have the pleasure to have. Martin Buber, a famous philosopher, once said, "An animal's eyes have the power to speak a great language." We feel this is especially true, especially when considering one's own pet. Over time, we essentially form a secret language with our beloved companions. Through this language, they are able to communicate on the most basic level with us. It is all the more interesting that this language is not a one way street, but one where our pets can understand us just as much as we understand them. The wisdom that is present in the eyes of a cat is vast, and the love that is evident in the eyes of a dog is nothing less than pure. So, when the time comes for one of our furry family members to depart our world, the void that is left in our homes and hearts is all but appeasable.
