Horses have been part of our human history for eons, and have even helped shape what is the modern world today. The gentle nature of these equine creatures has not only helped make them domesticated, but also has enchanted many poets, artists, musicians, and many others throughout time, and with good reason. Anyone who has worked hand in hand with these gentle giants can attest to their personable natures and calm dispositions, and also to their willingness to learn and contribute. This is why, perhaps, when we lose one of these beautiful co-workers and companions, the loss greatly felt, and the grief that ensues can be as deep and substantial as that of losing a beloved household pet, or even a close friend or relative. The fact that these creatures not only serve as companions, but also contributed so much throughout their entire lives leaves many feeling a need to properly memorialize them and their memory.
