Pet Memorial Grave Stones

Although many may not think so, including pet owners, the loss of a pet can be just as devastating as that of a close friend, or even relative. Pet owners who have recently lost a pet often feel reluctant, even embarrassed, to admit the sad state that the loss of a beloved companion may have left them in. Whether we like to admit it or not, actually losing a companion pet that we have grown close with can certainly leave us feeling as if there is a large void, not only in our homes, but also our lives. This stands with reason, actually, as Sandra Barker, director of the Center for Human-Animal Interaction at Virginia Commonwealth University explains. "The difference is the pet gave them constant companionship, and there was total dependency". In other words, whereas our friends and family members have their own lives, own obligations, which requires most, if not all of their time, or pets are a constant in our lives, there when we leave, and when we come back. When we look at it that way, it is more than understandable how the loss of a beloved companion that stood as that constant source of comfort in our lives can be very traumatic.
