Cemetery Miscellaneous

In her famous novel Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte wrote, "If all else perished, and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger." The loss of a loved one can certainly make one feel the same sentiment that Ms. Bronte described, in that the blow suffered can leave one feeling as if their whole world has changed in the blink of an eye. Suddenly, things that brought tremendous joy only bring sadness, as we can no longer share them with the lost individual. It can seem that even things we didn't associate with them can be a constant reminder of the loss. Grief can certainly seem as vast as the depths of the universe, but many find that creating a memorial in honor of the lost loved one can certainly help ease the pain. Not only will that memorial pay tribute to the individual, but also offer us a place of repose, where we can go and let our minds wander to happier memories that were created with them.
