Season Keepsakes

The holiday season is usually filled with a positive air of excitement, anticipation, love, and joy. While this is true, it can be all but that for those who have, unfortunately, suffered the loss of a loved one. This is especially true for those who have recently suffered such a loss, as this holiday time can be a painful reminder of the fact that the loved one will not be there to share the joy of the season. While grief can make this time of the year seem very difficult, it does not have to be filled with the pain and sadness we anticipate. In fact, many can agree that not celebrating the holiday can be seen as disrespectful to a lost loved one, as we are not carrying out the traditions created with them. One way to help enjoy the season, is to incorporate the memory of the lost individual in with the celebration of the season. This can be accomplished by displaying their portrait in a prominent area of the room, gathering around and going through old photos or videos of them, reliving the precious memories they gave us, or even visiting their final resting place with friends and/or family to pay respect to them.
